Free Crochet Cookie Pattern
Written by Freddy Goat Design Team
Why do I need a free crochet cookie pattern in my life?
It’s time for the confessions of a couple of cookie monsters. We LOVE cookies. Goat in any type or shape. Freddy is more particular (she has a zero tolerence policy when it come to raisins!). We are bound by our love of floury, sugary, crunchy delights. But what is a modestly successful crochet designer to do when trying not to eat a whole box of cookies? Drink wine! Well, yes, but also making some crochet cookies seems like a healthier decision to calm those cravings.
SPECIAL STS/INSTRUCTIONS
free cookie crochet pattern
Bobble: All the bobbles in this pattern are 4-step bobbles. Making a bobble is similar to making multiple dcs in the same stitch, except that you keep a loop of yarn on your hook rather than finishing each stitch before making the next. Eventually you will have a loop of yarn on your hook for each step of the bobble plus one extra loop. (For example, in the case of a 4-step bobble you will have 5 loops on the hook.) In the last step of the bobble, you will draw the working yarn through all the loops remaining on the hook. If you are new to making bobbles, Youtube is your friend.
Color Changes: Any time the pattern calls for a bobble, change to the dark brown yarn in the last step of the proceeding sc, make the bobble, then change back to the light brown yarn in the last step of the bobble (ie., when you pull the yarn through all 5 loops left on the hook). The bobbles are the chocolate chips.
Before we get started, this is what you need:
- 2.75mm(US C-2) crochet hook
- Aran or worsted weight yarn:
• Color A: light brown
• Color B: dark brown - Tapestry needle
- Stuffing
5-rnd gauge circle = 1.75”/4.5cm Gauge isn’t terribly important in amigurumi, so it is okay to use a slightly larger hook if that is all you have. However, you don’t want to see stuffing through the stitches, so don’t get too big.
- Magic ring (MR)
- Single crochet (sc)
- Increase (inc)
- Invisible decrease (invdec)
